Anne founded Design Science in 2011 with three other partners, having recognised that design expertise was lacking from the field of science communication, despite being well established within the arts.
Anne graduated with First Class degree in Typography & Graphic Communication from the University of Reading in 1996. She was employed as an editorial designer in London before setting up her first design consultancy, O-SB Design, in 2001. O-SB works within the arts, culture and education; clients include Tate, Royal Academy of Arts and The British Museum.
In addition to running her two design agencies, Anne is a Visiting Lecturer at the Royal College of Art and at Central Saint Martins in London, and at Konstfack University in Stockholm. She is author of The New Handmade Graphics (RotoVision 2003), a book about graphic designers mixing analogue with digital processes or materials as a way of removing or reducing their dependence on the computer. She has also published other material including articles for Eye magazine and for Phaidon.
